RACHEL STONE writes stories of hope and redemption, set against vibrant Canadian backdrops. Her debut novel THE BLUE IRIS, about a group of broken people coming to terms with the past while reclaiming their futures at a Toronto flower market, is a Booklife Editor’s Pick, Kirkus “Get It” Pick, NYC Big Book Awards Distinguished Favorite, and has earned widespread critical acclaim and multiple literary awards including the 2025 International Book Award for General Fiction.
Rachel’s uplifting lyric essays along with her inspiring “story behind the story” have been featured in Publisher’s Weekly, Please See Me, SheDoesTheCity, Apple-featured podcast 2Lives, and more, and her Substack for writers, The Launch Diaries, offers light in the dark for creatives at all stages. She’s a dynamic speaker, active member of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association and reading collective Iris and Ivy Reads, and powerful advocate for the pursuit of one’s passions.
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, she currently lives just north of the city with her family, and on summer weekends you’ll find her along the shores of Georgian Bay, belting nineties pop rock off-key from her paddleboard.
